“Among Giants” places a single red-sailed boat against the immense face of a drifting iceberg. The ice rises like a pale blue mountain, its subtle ridges and planes catching the cool Arctic light while the water below reflects it in soft bands of color. I composed the frame so the sailboat sits on the far edge of the scene, a small flare of red on the horizon, emphasizing the overwhelming scale of the ice and the quiet vulnerability of crossing such frozen, silent waters.
